PUTRAJAYA, Nov 30 - SPM candidates are breathing sighs of relief after the Education Ministry debunked a rumor that this year's candidates may have to sit again for their Bahasa Melayu Kertas 2.

Education director-general Datuk Abd Ghafar Mahmud said based on the investigation conducted by the Malaysian Examination Board, the test for the subject was valid and that candidates who sat for the paper needed not sit for it again.

“I wish to stress here that the candidates and their parents should not believe the baseless rumour.

“I also suggest that they not worry about the matter as the Education Ministry was always taking measures to ensure the validity of all examinations conducted, as well as their quality and standard,” he said.

The Bahasa Melayu Kertas 2 was scheduled on November 23.
